Moss Mansion Christmas Celebration

From your Vice President Tara Beley-Becken As you may have heard we will be taking part in the Moss Mansion Christmas celebration this year. For those of you not familiar, each room in the Moss Mansion has a Christmas tree decorated by a different non-profit, and this year the theme is “Christmas Through the Ages”. The title of our adopted tree is “Feeding America Through the Ages”. To make the tree more personal, we would like members near and far to submit photos for their own Christmas Ornament on the tree. The photos can be old or new, but should show your families involvement in agriculture or why you love agriculture. If you will be at the retreat this weekend we would love you to bring along a copy of a photo or photos that can be cut up for the ornament. If you do not have access to a printer, or will not be at the retreat, you can still participate! Just email your photo to me at tarabeley@yahoo.com. Be sure to write include a short description of the photo. Please see the example below. All photos must be received by Saturday November 8th to be included on the tree. Decorating will take place on November 10th and 11th (times will be announced as we get closer to these dates).

We will also be making other decorations this weekend at the retreat to complement our vintage, rustic, agriculture themed tree. We will be assembling a rope and burlap garland, fabric covered Styrofoam balls, and glass Christmas balls filled with wheat, barley, corn, wool, and other ag products.

We are also looking for other vintage agriculture items to be included on the tree including horseshoes, hay hooks, hand held sheep shears, jingle bells, and any other antique items that would fit in with the theme.
